Val di Noto
Val di Noto – Baroque Towns in Southeastern Sicily
Val di Noto is a historic region in southeastern Sicily, best known for its UNESCO-listed baroque towns and distinctive 18th-century architecture. Rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1693, the area includes some of the most beautiful towns in Sicily, such as Noto, Modica and Ragusa Ibla. Today, Val di Noto is one of the island’s most important cultural and architectural destinations.

Val di Noto is more than a name on a map. It is a mood. A rhythm. A part of Sicily where everyday life still unfolds between food markets, narrow streets and sunlit piazzas.
Wonderfully old-fashioned…
This is the region that truly made us fall in love with Sicily. It was here we discovered something both distinctive and timeless — and here we decided to stay far longer than planned during our 12-month journey in 2025. We have lived in several of the towns in Val di Noto and experienced how daily life is shaped by local markets, church bells and long lunches that stretch into the afternoon. It is a place that invites you to stay — not just visit. And it is exactly here we want to return, year after year.
Here you’ll find our guides to the towns and places we have explored in this part of southeastern Sicily.
