Planeta Country House – A Sicilian Farmhouse Full of Charm
After a few days at Buonivini, it was time to move on. This time, we were driving four hours northwest to Planeta’s next estate in Menfi. Here you’ll find two of Planeta’s other properties, and our first stop was Planeta Country House – along with their incredible Insula Beach Club. Perhaps one of the most beautiful and unique beach clubs we’ve ever visited.
At Planeta Country House, there’s no wine production, but the estate produces olives and almonds instead. The place itself is beautiful and simple – a small, authentic hotel where breakfast is served outdoors in the courtyard, at a ten-meter-long wooden table beautifully decorated with freshly picked flowers. Breakfast includes fruit, homemade cakes, bread, yogurt, coffee, and tea – a classic Italian breakfast, made from local ingredients.

In the evenings, you can order cold cuts – cheeses, cured meats, olives, and simple salads. There’s no restaurant here, just a small kitchen, and everything is down-to-earth, homemade, and delicious. Of course, you can order any of Planeta’s wines to go with your meal.
Here we also tasted a salad for the first time that we’ll never forget. We’ve tried to recreate it at home several times – with mixed success. But if you ever visit Planeta Country House, you’ll most likely get to try it too. Something to look forward to!

Where is Planeta Country House?
