Planeta Insula Beach Club – A Hidden Paradise by the Sicilian Seaside
The Planeta family also owns a private beach club connected to their hotels here in Menfi. If you’re a guest at Planeta La Foresteria, entrance and sunbeds are included. Guests staying at Country House only pay €20 per person for access and sunbeds — and you can also visit even if you’re not staying at one of Planeta’s hotels. This makes Insula Beach Club a beautiful destination for a day-trip if you stay in the region of Agrigento or Trapani.

This is truly one of the most beautiful beach clubs we’ve visited in Sicily. You arrive by walking through a large, sun-dappled pine forest where tables and chairs are set beneath the trees, offering cool shade from the Sicilian heat. There’s a restaurant, bar, boutique, and even a small massage area. Every piece of furniture and lounge is beautifully placed among the pine trees, creating an atmosphere that feels both natural and exclusive.
The changing rooms and shower facilities are among the best we’ve ever seen. They’re housed in newly renovated buildings, with outdoor showers featuring rainforest-style water and bamboo walls.

From the area of the restaurant and the bar, narrow paths lead you through a wonderful open area filled with sofas and lounge spaces. Here you’ll find hammocks and sunbeds under the pine trees, and finally, the paths take you down to the white beach — where sun loungers and parasols are hidden behind sand dunes, completely shielded from the outside world. No one can see in from the beach, and curious passers-by can only guess what’s behind the dunes. It’s truly a breathtakingly beautiful place.

The restaurant deserves special mention too — it’s absolutely fantastic. The menu features local dishes from the area, as well as recipes inspired by nearby regions like Marsala and Trapani. We can honestly say we had the best seafood couscous we’ve ever tasted here. And, of course, they serve all of Planeta’s wines.
Insula Beach Club gave us a relaxing and peaceful experience. The air smelled of pine and sea salt, the trees offered gentle shade from the sun, and the entire place – from its design to its atmosphere – was simply beautiful.
It’s the perfect place to spend a day by the sea, or to enjoy a long, lazy lunch under the trees.
