Planeta La Foresteria Resort – A Floral and Dreamlike Oasis Among the Vines
After spending two days at Planeta Country House, our journey continued to their great pride: La Foresteria. This is the jewel of Planeta – a beautiful hotel with an exceptional restaurant.
The hotel sits on a hill surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, and its swimming pool overlooks the landscape like something out of a painting. In 2025, La Foresteria was awarded the prestigious Winery Hospitality Award during the presentation of the Slow Wine 2025 Guide.
We stayed here for one night, in a lovely room right by the pool. We decided that for this single day, we would do nothing but relax and enjoy every minute of being there.
When we arrived, we were given a tour of the hotel and invited to join a wine tasting if we wanted to. But after having already visited three Planeta estates and tasted nearly their entire selection, we decided to sit this one out and simply enjoy the peace and quiet.
We spent the day swimming, reading, and soaking up the atmosphere by the pool, and had both lunch and dinner at the restaurant. For dinner, we decided on the tasting menu, since we had heard that the chef, Angelo Pumilia, is known for experimenting and blending Italian and Asian flavors. We were curious to see what that meant in practice.
And we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely outstanding — flavors bursting, textures perfectly balanced, and every dish a small work of art. It was playful, elegant, and so good that we still talk about it.
