Marzamemi is a very small village – you can walk through it in no time. But that’s not really the point. What it lacks in size, it makes up for with excellent restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere that invites you to slow down and stay a while.
Seafood here is as fresh as it gets, with the ocean just steps away, prepared using traditional Sicilian recipes. Here are our favourites – some of the best places to eat in Marzamemi.
Taverna la Gialoma
This Michelin-recommended taverna is known for its seafood dishes. Located right on the main piazza, with colourful tables, chairs and ceramic details, it’s one of the most idyllic places to dine in Marzamemi.
The food is of a high standard, and our experience here was nothing short of excellent. It’s a popular spot, so we recommend booking in advance.
La Muciara – Ristorante e Pizzeria
This restaurant and pizzeria sits right by the water in Marzamemi. It serves classic Sicilian seafood dishes of high quality, and also has a pizza oven – so you can enjoy a proper Sicilian pizza as well.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is excellent. We were always greeted with a smile and a genuine welcome.
Hamama Lido Balneare - Beach Club
This beach club is located right next to several of the other beach clubs in Marzamemi, just a short walk (around five minutes) from the main parking area at the entrance to the village.
It’s a very popular place, so booking ahead is essential. The club also has a bar and a restaurant. To be completely honest, the restaurant can feel quite busy – even a bit chaotic at times – so a little patience goes a long way.
That said, it’s a lively place full of people, music and energy. If you’re planning to have lunch here, make sure to reserve in advance.
